The final project will be to design and build, as a 4-person team, a display for the Tinker Tech space in the EdVenture Children’s museum in Columbia, SC. You will have to make some game that will excite a child about science, electricity etc. You have free reign to do whatever you want to do, as long as you’re within the bounds of the space. We will go to the museum early in the semester to see the space, and set expectations. You can use stuff from our class projects, if you’d like, but you don’t have to. You’ll have to make everything from the technical stuff, to the presentation materials etc. I’d rather you make something simple that works robustly, than be overly ambitious.

You’ll have to sell your idea to me and your colleagues, as we will whittle the 15 teams in the class down to 5 through in-class voting and my grading. These 5 will then present their ideas to the broader community at an evening event (date to be posted soon) at EdVenture museum, where we will have people from all walks of life. They will evaluate you as well, and the best 3 will be displayed at the museum. A small portion of your grade for the project will be based on the voting results. You’ll get a separate assignment sheet with all the details for the project, and detailed grading specs. We would like to thank our partners at EdVenture museum for graciously letting us use their space, and guiding our students through the design/brainstorming process.
